New beginnings with God are sought from different starting points, desired for various reasons, and can include any amount of desired change.
Depending on your needs and what you’re hoping for, you may have questioned “what does God say about new beginnings?” and maybe what you might do when God gives you a new beginning.
Whether you’re longing for a complete shakeup, praying for lasting change in just one area of life, or considering a giant step out of your comfort zone isn’t as important and understanding these two things.
- You have access to new beginnings with God every day!
- God is immutable, meaning not only is God unchanging, but God is also incapable of change!
Combining and truly understanding these two foundational ideas bring you a lot of freedom when praying for and stepping into new beginnings with God. Because the beautiful balance held in these truths is that you get to experience new beginnings with God while also maintaining a secure, stable footing.
New Beginnings with God Every Day
It’s easy to feel bogged down or stuck in our routines. Though they are necessary for maintaining order and can be essential for growth, we often crave something, anything really, as long as it’s new and different. Finding the balance between being fully present and keeping things fresh requires balance. Sometimes we can bring balance just by altering our perspective.
How would it change your attitude on life if you greeted each day by remembering you’ve been made new and that God doles out new mercies each day so that you are continually being transformed more into God’s likeness?
In seeking sacred in the everyday, which is our Holistic Faith Lifestyle mantra, we open ourselves to the anticipation of meeting with God in every aspect of our lives. Nothing is parceled off as not good enough, unspiritual enough, or “ours” enough that God won’t be there. In turn, we honor God’s faithfulness to us by showing up to this intimate relationship on every day and in every way.

6 Bible Verses About Being a New Creation
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17
This verse reminds us that as we set out the first of our new beginnings with God, our time of first belief, it was there that God traded places with us. Through grace, we have received an incredibly unfair advantage. Our perfect God took on sin so that we might take on righteousness.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ~ Galatians 2:20
New beginnings with God are possible because of Christ’s loving sacrifice!

This ‘newness of life’ is what we experience and celebrate and share with others through our overflowing hope and glorification of God. It is good news!

New Beginnings With God
The word ‘christian’ means different things to different people. To one person it means a stiff, upright, inflexible way of life, colorless and unbending. To another it means a risky, surprised-filled adventure, lived tiptoe at the edge of expectation…If we get our information from the biblical material, there is no doubt that the Christian life is a dancing, leaping, daring life. ~ Eugene H. Peterson
What new beginnings with God are you seeking right now? Is it something internal within your heart and mind? Or is it the start of something new in your life, your work, your relationships, or your ministry?

How to Access New Beginnings with God
How can you allow new beginnings with God to continually renew your faith, your relationships, your idea of success and failure, fueling your dreams for the future, and pushing you to actualize your purpose?
1. Detach From Outcomes and Live In the Present
Operating in a flow state means being so present in the current moment that you draw life from the task or passion you’re performing and operate at an optimal state. This frame of mind is made possible because you’re caught up in the moment in the best way. Releasing concern and worry over the past and the future, makes room to fully enjoy the now. When you detach from the outcome you not only enjoy your work more, you also perform better.
A flow state can be accessed in sports, exercise goals, projects at home and at work, motivating others, rallying support for justice work, within your hobbies, tough parenting conversations, and easy play dates. In essence, a flow state mirrors an Eden frame of mind. We do our best and truly enjoy what we’ve been given because we have an intimate relationship with God and know that God provides all that we need.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. ~ Psalm 16:11
Entering a Flow State with Christian Meditation
I have also found Christian meditation to be helpful in this desire to access and operate from a flow state. In meditation, you are self-training for optimum focus while letting go of distractions such as to-do lists, regrets of the past, pressures of the present, and concerns for the future. All of these benefits of daily meditation plant the seeds for you to more easily access and operate from a flow state.
I have been training myself outside of meditation to be fully immersed in whatever I’m doing and operate from a flow state. It is teaching me that being present is a large part of seeking sacred in the everyday! If I’m writing, I’m writing. If I’m hanging out with my kids, I’m hanging out with my kids. If I’m doing admin tasks for our family business, I’m all in. And even though those home office tasks don’t spark passion in me, when I’m operating from this intention, I move through them much more efficiently.
Tuning out distractions not only has the benefit of connecting us joyfully to whatever requires our attention, but also tuning us into God. Operating from a flow state often results in a heightened awareness of opportunities for new beginnings with God! This is way more than a side-benefit of your Christian meditation practice. It is a glorious life changer!
2. THrow Off All That Entangles & Fully Enjoy Your New Beginnings With God
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. ~ Hebrews 12:1-3
What hindrances do you need to throw off for the purpose of finding new beginnings with God? If nothing comes to mind, consider if there’s been an in creeping of the sin of not believing God is enough. Enough to forgive the past. Enough to carry you through the present. Enough to provide you with a future that is good and overflows with hope. As you seek new beginnings with God remember that God has been and always will be your portion.
