With native heritage on both sides of my family, I loved being at the annual event. The prayers, focus on healing and honoring of native veterans was beautiful. ⠀⠀
At today’s parade, I was able to show the kids our uncle’s name on the Memorial Wall. He was the first resident of our county who died in WW1. Both a street in downtown and an AmVet Post bear his name.

After, we visited my father in-law and talked about my grandfather, also both Vets.
⠀⠀
It’s been a sweet November; feeling connected to the people and stories that brought us here. ❤️ Appreciative of the Vets in your story, too! Because they’ve touched us all.
